Every student in the U.S. should have free internet access at school and at home.

Whether its online testing, classroom assignment management or online lectures/lessons, our children’s education in some capacity is moving to an online platform. This is a move in the right direction but unfortunately it is hampered by an inadequate availability.
Many low-income students still struggle with lack of Internet access at home. A Huffington Post article dated 10/30/2012 states:
“Lack of access is more common among poorer and less educated Americans. 99 percent of households making $150,000 or more had Internet access, compared to only 57 percent of households making $15,000 or less.”
The lack of home internet access leaves lower income students at a great disadvantage. It also hampers the educational system as a whole.
The internet is powerful education tool from kindergarten – college. It should be offered free to all students and schools.

Maybe, this is something that can be given to students, like a rugged smart pad with free 3G.
